Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lachezar Lozanov

Endocrinologist

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lachezar Lozanov, MD, began writing his brilliant biography as early as 1992 when he received his medical degree from the Medical University in Sofia. He has two majors - Internal Diseases (1999) and Endocrinology (2002). Prof. Lozanov has many years of experience in the treatment of thyroid diseases and diabetes, as well as in the field of pituitary, adrenal and gonadal disorders. He has a strong interest in the study and treatment of overweight and obesity. He is a valued specialist in thyroid and parathyroid ultrasound.

In 2016 he defended his thesis on: “Hypothyroidism, Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome - Interconnections and Role of Pathogenesis Factors” and obtained the educational and scientific degree “Doctor of Medicine”. Since 2019, he has held an academic position of Associate Professor of Internal Diseases.

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lachezar Lozanov has participated in a research in the field of endocrinology and compiling teaching aids on clinical problems of endocrinology. He has several original articles and reviews published in Bulgarian and international medical journals. He has co-authored the monograph “Thyroid Diseases” in 2018 and the monograph “Hashimoto’s thyroiditis” in 2021.

 

Prof. Lachezar Lozanov has been Head of the Department of Endocrinology at Tokuda University Hospital from 2006 to 2020. Since 2020 he has been Head of the Endocrinology and Nephrology departments at the Clinic of Internal Diseases, and in 2022 he became part of the team of Preventica.
