Ophthalmologists have the task of studying, recognizing, treating and preventing the diseases of the optical analyser and local eye manifestations in other common diseases. The most frequent complaints in patients are mainly related to myocardial infarction (myopia), farsightedness (hypermetropia), astigmatism. Timely measures taken for the vision health may help to influence these eye conditions. Wearing glasses is not a disease, it's just a deviation in the eye optics. The task of the eye doctor is not so much to treat optical anomalies, but to correct them with glasses, contact lenses and others. With age, there is a need for permanent wearing of glasses – presbyopia, socially significant eye diseases such as cataracts (an elderly eye curtain) and glaucoma. The eye doctor should be well oriented in the complaints that lead the patient to them, as, often they may be symptoms of another disease – arterial hypertension, diabetes, etc. Regular visits to the ophthalmology office are essential for your awareness, early diagnosis and treatment, vision correction and prevention.

The following activities may be carried out in the office:

  • Eye examinations;
  • Refractometry;
  • Vision correction;
  • Computer perimetry;
  • Measurement of eye pressure;
  • Funduscopic examination.
