Dr. Georgi Karamitev is a mammologist (Breast Radiology) and a specialist in Imaging Diagnostics. His interests are related to treatment of breast cancer and minimum- invasive oncology procedures.
Dr. Karamitev graduated with honors from MU - Plovdiv. He has specialized in Imaging Diagnostics at the Military Medical Academy, Sofia. Underwent many trainings in Italy, England and Wales.
While still a student, Dr. Karamitev participated as a co-author of scientific studies on the topics: "Hirschsprung's disease", "Wilms' tumor", "Renal nephropathy in patients with multiple myeloma", which were presented at the "ICMS" student congress in Sofia.
Dr. Karamitev has been working in the field of oncogynecology, interventional radiology and emergency medicine in hospitals in Bulgaria, Italy and England. He was volunteeringduring the global Covid-19 pandemic on the front line in England, for which he received personal thanks from the National Health Service (NHS). Dr. Karamitev has completed number of courses : innovative breast biopsy system "NeoNavia Biopsy System" - Bristol, UK; in mammography, 3D ultrasound, tomosynthesis and contrast enhanced mammography in Vienna, Austria; practical course at “Ospedale Tor Vergata” – Rome, Italy; in diagnostics of breast diseases in USBAL oncology, Sofia.
Dr. Karamitev is the only Bulgarian doctor who is a member of the British Society of Breast Radiology
